After 3rd Debate G.O.P Suspends ties to NBC

"The Republican National Committee (RNC) announced Friday that it is suspending its relationship with NBC News following the third GOP presidential primary debate this week.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus wrote a letter to NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack saying that the organization’s sole role in the primary debate process is to ensure that its candidates are given a full and fair opportunity to outline their vision for the future of the United States.

This was not the case, Priebus said, for the conservative politicians onstage at the University of Colorado’s Coors Events Center in Boulder on Wednesday evening.
The CNBC network is one of your media properties, and its handling of the debate was conducted in bad faith,” the letter reads. “We understand that NBC does not exercise full editorial control over CNBC’s journalistic approach. However, the network is an arm of your organization, and we need to ensure there is not a repeat performance.”
According to Priebus, the business news channel did not deliver on several promises: (1) The debate did not focus on key issues that matter to voters, such as job growth, taxes, technology, retirement and the national economy; (2) candidates did not receive opening questions on the economy or finance; and (3) speaking time was not monitored carefully to ensure fairness.
The conservative leader characterized the questions as “inaccurate or downright offensive.” He cited the first question directed to party frontrunner Donald Trump as to whether he was running a “comic-book version of a presidential campaign” as an example." yahoo

Kasich's Rant

"Do you know how crazy this election is? Let me tell you something. I've about had it with these
people," Kasich said highlighted by the national Democratic Party.
Kasich, one of the establishment-oriented candidates trying to break through a crowded field, then unloaded on real-estate mogul Donald Trump and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, the political neophytes.
"We got one candidate that says that we ought to abolish Medicaid and Medicare. You ever heard of anything so crazy as that?" Kasich asked his supporters, not mentioning Trump or Carson by name.
He continued: "We got one person saying we ought to have a 10% flat tax that will drive up the deficit in this country by trillions of dollars that my daughters will spend the rest of their lives having to pay off.
"And I say to them is: 'Why don't we have no taxes? Just get rid of them all! And a chicken in every pot on top of it.'"
That entire broadside was apparently directed at Carson, who has supported having health-savings accounts." yahoo

Biden Let that Story get play this whole time - but it wasn't true?

"It was a heart-rending story with an emotional impact capable of fundamentally shifting the race for the nation’s highest office.
And the man at the center of it says it never happened.
Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Beau, tragically died of brain cancer at age 46 on May 30, 2015.
Stories began to circulate that Beau’s dying wish was for his father to run for president, injecting a powerful emotional narrative into the growing cries for him to join the 2016 presidential race. Many sought an alternative to Hillary Clinton, who’s candidacy was beginning to look damaged from the controversy over her use of a personal email server while serving as secretary of State.
Yet, on 60 Minutes Sunday night, Biden said the stories of Beau’s dying request were the stuff of Hollywood fantasy.
Beau all along thought that I should run and I could win,” Biden said, “but there was not — what is sort of made out as this Hollywood-esque thing — that at the last minute Beau grabbed my hand and said, ‘Dad you’ve got to run,’ like, ‘Win one for the Gipper.’ Wasn’t anything like that.”
Biden explained that he simply didn’t run because he didn’t think he could win." USATODAY

Rubio's Comments on the Senate

"Marco Rubio is a U.S. senator. And he just can’t stand it anymore.
I don’t know that ‘hate’ is the right word,Rubio said in an interview. “I’m frustrated.”
This year, as Rubio runs for president, he has cast the Senate — the very place that cemented him as a national politician — as a place he’s given up on, after less than one term. It’s too slow. Too rule-bound. So Rubio, 44, has decided not to run for his seat again. It’s the White House or bust." msn

Christie's Amtrak Foray

"Accounts differ as to the volume of Christie’s voice and his demeanor on the Washington,
D.C.-to-New Jersey ride after an appearance on “Face the Nation,” CNN reported, but it appears he was talking on his cellphone, which is a no-no on the quiet car.
In such environs, Amtrak rules that passengers “are asked to limit conversation and speak in subdued tones. Phone calls are not allowed and all portable electronic devices must be muted or used with headphones (passengers using headphones must keep the volume low enough so that the audio cannot be heard by other passengers.)”
Passenger Alexander Mann emailed CNN his account with photos, saying Christie entered the quiet car with a McDonald’s strawberry smoothie while getting testy with someone he was with about a seating mix-up.
The details of the conversation were unclear but it was definitely some sort of work phone call,” Mann recounted to CNN. “This went on for 5-10 minutes until the conductor, prompted by passenger complaints, asked him to stop using his cell phone or leave the car. He again started yelling at his security detail and huffed off to another train car. He kept repeating ‘frickin’ ridiculous’ and ‘Seriously?! Seriously?!’” TheBlaze

Trump on ABC's This Week about Carson's Religion

"Sunday, Trump was back-pedaling on the controversy, even while refusing to apologize to Carson for having raised the topic in the first place. Questioned by George Stephanopoulos of ABC News’ This Week on why he even brought up the subject, Trump sputtered, “I just don’t know about that particular religion.
I would never say bad about any religion,” Trump said. “I said, ‘I don’t know about it.’ That’s not an insult.
For a front-running candidate who lives and breathes polling results and who has been riding the crest of an anti-establishment movement in his party, Trump suddenly has something to worry about." yahoo

Trump goes after Carson's Religion

"Donald Trump on Saturday raised questions about Republican presidential challenger Ben Carson's faith with recent surveys showing the retired pediatric neurosurgeon leading among voters in Iowa and Wisconsin.
"I love Iowa," Trump said, The Washington Post reports. "And, look, I don't have to say it, I'm Presbyterian.

"Can you believe it? Nobody believes I'm Presbyterian," the billionaire developer added. "I'm Presbyterian. I'm Presbyterian.

"I'm Presbyterian. Boy, that's down the middle of the road folks, in all fairness," he said. "I mean,
Seventh-day Adventist, I don't know about. I just don't know about
."

In his 1992 book, "Gifted Hands," Carson disclosed that he is a twice-baptized Seventh-day Adventist.

Seventh-day Adventists are Protestants who believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to Earth and adopt a literal interpretation of the Bible.

They also observe the Sabbath on Saturday. That differs from most Christians, including Presbyterians, who observe the Sabbath on Sunday.

The denomination was established in 1863 in Battle Creek, Mich.

"We believe that the biblical events recorded in Genesis 1-11, including the special creation of human beings, are historical and recent, that the seven days of creation were literal 24 hour days forming a literal week, and that the flood was global in nature,"the Church's website said."

Sanders Weird Answer on Kimmel

Hillary debate winner - Lead DROPS in Polls

"Most people who watched the first Democrat debate believe Hillary Clinton turned in the best
performance of any of the five candidates on stage — but it did not give the former secretary of state a significant bump in the race for the Democratic nomination.
According to a CNN/ORC poll released Monday, 62 percent of Democrat or Democratic-leaning voters said Clinton did the best job during last week’s debate, compared to 35 percent who said Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders did the best job. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley and ex-Virginia Sen. Jim Webb received 1 percent each, while former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee did not register, according to the poll.
But the same poll found Clinton’s lead on Sanders had actually decreased following the debate.
A CNN/ORC survey conducted last month showed Clinton (42 percent) with an 18-point lead on Sanders (24 percent) and 20-point advantage on Vice President Joe Biden (22 percent), who is said to be still mulling a late presidential bid. But the new poll — conducted over three days after the debate — shows support for Clinton (45 percent) is up just 3 percentage points while support for Sanders (29 percent) has jumped five. Support for Biden, who did not take part in the debate, has slipped four points to 18 percent, the survey found." yahoo

Trump's Mob Days

"Trump routinely gave large campaign contributions to politicians who held sway over his projects and he worked with mob-controlled companies and unions to build them.
Americans have rarely contemplated a candidate quite like Trump, 69, who has become the unlikely leader among Republican Party contenders for the White House. He’s a brash Queens-born scion who navigated through one of the most corrupt construction industries in the country to become a brand-name business mogul.
Much has been written about his early career, but many details have been obscured by the passage of time and overshadowed by Trump’s success and celebrity.
A Washington Post review of court records, testimony by Trump and other accounts that have been out of the public eye for decades offers insights into his rise. He was never accused of illegality, and observers of the time say that working with the mob-related figures and politicos came with the territory. Trump declined repeated requests to comment." Trump picks a Fight with George W. Bush

"Donald Trump says he doesn’t flat out blame former president George W. Bush that the Sept. 11 terror attacks happened on his watch. But he can think of three reasons why one could hold Bush responsible.
And, he might add, they are three things a President Trump would do very differently.
You always have to look to the person at the top,” Trump said Saturday in a telephone interview. “Do I blame George Bush? I only say that he was the president at the time, and you know, you could say the buck stops here.
So why might one consider Bush responsible?
No. 1: Bush’s immigration policy. “We had very weak immigration laws,Trump said, adding that perhaps if Bush had had a Trump-style immigration policy, replete with “the strong laws that I’m
wanting, these terrorists wouldn’t have been in the country.”
No. 2: People knew that the FBI, the National Security Council, and the CIA weren’t sharing information about potential threats. “They were not talking to each other,” Trump said. “If I’m president, I want to have my three most important agencies talking to each other and coordinating with each other.”
And No. 3: George Tenet, Bush’s director of central intelligence, “knew in advance that there would be an attack, and he said that.”
I don’t blame anybody,” Trump continued, after listing those points. “But it’s possible,” he continued, that had the administration had stronger policy on those points, “perhaps something could have been done that was obviously better than the worst attack ever perpetrated on the United States.

Obama angers FBI Agents over Hillary Scandal

"Federal agents were still cataloging the classified information from Clinton’s personal email server
last week when Obama went on television and played down the matter.
I don’t think it posed a national security problem,” Mr. Obama said Sunday on CBS’s “60 Minutes.” He said it was a mistake for Mrs. Clinton to use a private email account when she was secretary of state, but his conclusion was unmistakable: “This is not a situation in which America’s national security was endangered.”
Those statements angered F.B.I. agents who have been working for months to determine whether Ms. Clinton’s email setup had in fact put any of the nation’s secrets at risk, according to current and former law enforcement officials.

The White House quickly backed off the president’s remarks and said Mr. Obama was not trying to influence the investigation. But his comments spread quickly, raising the ire of officials who saw an instance of the president trying to influence the outcome of a continuing investigation — and not for the first time." We were shooting to book her at the end of November,” Vos said. “But last Thursday her people called and said they would be around the area this week and would we like to do the interview then, so we said, ‘Uh, sure!’”

With their four days of preparation, the class of about 20 kids wrote and researched lots of conversation topics, and Vos and his co-anchor, Merabeth Heinitz, 16, culled the list to a manageable number, practiced some banter and attempted to calm their nerves.
The resulting 20-minute conversation was wide-ranging, featuring questions on education policy, criminal justice reform, recent Russian airstrikes on Syria and President Barack Obama’s decision to allow "at least 10,000" Syrian refugees into America." DesMoinesRegister

Webb's debate answer contrasted with the others

"During last night's Democrat debare, CNN’s Anderson Cooper noted that each of the candidates had
made a number of enemies during their careers in politics and asked them which enemy they were most proud of.
Most of the Democrats at the debate gave predictably boring answers to Cooper’s question. Lincoln Chafee said he was proud that the coal industry disliked him. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley said the National Rifle Association. Bernie Sanders said Wall Street. What about Hillary?“Probably the Republicans" Hillary responded,..
But former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb, a highly decorated Marine combat veteran, is what shook everyone awake.
Which enemy are you most proud of?” Cooper asked. “Senator Webb?”
I’d have to say the enemy soldier that threw the grenade that wounded me,” Webb calmly replied, “but he’s not around right now to talk to.”
Webb was referring to an operation during the Vietnam War that eventually led to Webb being awarded the Navy Cross. After being repeatedly shot at while trying to clear enemy bunkers, Webb deliberately put himself between an enemy grenade and one of his fellow Marines in order to shield that Marine from the grenade blast." POLL: Carson Caught up to Trump?

"Trump remains in the lead in the race for the party's nomination, with 24 percent support
nationally, but Carson is a close behind at 23 percent.
Carson has been in second place behind only Trump in the last three Fox News polls, but has been gaining steadily.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is in third place with 10 percent support in the Fox News poll, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at 9 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 8 percent.
Carly Fiorina and Mike Huckabee each took 5 percent support in the survey.
That’s a drop for Fiorina, who was at 9 percent in the previous Fox survey taken shortly after the last Republican presidential debate. Still, Fiorina has capitalized financially on her strong performance at the last debate, announcing Tuesday that she raised $6.8 million in the third quarter.

"Clinton seeking to halt the momentum of her insurgent challenger, Senator Sanders of Vermont, aggressively questioned his values, positions and voting history Tuesday night in the first Democratic presidential debate, turning a showdown that had been expected to scrutinize her character into a forceful critique of his record.
In a series of sometimes biting exchanges, Mrs. Clinton declared that Mr. Sanders was mistaken in his handling of crucial votes on gun control and misguided in his grasp of the essentialness of capitalism to the American identity. Mocking Mr. Sanders’s admiration for the health care system of Denmark, she interrupted a moderator to offer a stinging assessment of his logic, suggesting he was unprepared to grapple with the realities of governing a superpower.
We are not Denmark,” Mrs. Clinton said, adding with a sly smile, “I love Denmark. We are the United States of America.”

Hillary advisor calls Sanders a NUT

"This morning on Amtrak, Lanny Davis had a lot of feelings about 2016 and inadvertently decided to share them with the 6:55 a.m. train—which included two political reporters—as it zipped from D.C. to New York City.
The DC power lawyer and his traveling companions covered a lot of ground- whether Bernie Sanders is truly a Socialist (no), whether Joe Biden is a threat (he’s seen as a “buffoon”) whether Republican Carly Fiorina is nasty (yes)—as they chatted noisily and candidly about the ins and outs of the 2016 presidential race.
(Their chat also provided valuable insight for The Daily Beast and TownHall’s Guy Benson—who sat across the aisle from them.)
Benson, caught the first part of their conversation noted Davis had sharp words for the Democratic-Socialist Senator from Vermont, calling him a “flip-flopper” on guns and a “nut.”
