"Drudge Report Friday sought to buck claims that Hillary Clinton's campaign did not first raise the
birther issue by posting a video of a 2008 debate in which Clinton was asked about a photo showing then-Sen. Barack Obama in African garb that Drudge has reported was leaked by her campaign.
In the YouTube video of the MSNBC Democratic debate on Feb. 26, 2008, Clinton denied any knowledge of the photograph when asked by questioner Brian Williams.
The then-Illinois senator was "dressed as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya," according to the report.
Plouffe had accused the Clinton campaign of "shameful offensive fear-mongering" by circulating the photo.
