Trump's Mexico Moment Shines

"Trump’s critics said his hastily arranged visit to Mexico was an act of desperation, a Hail Mary
pass, the sign of an erratic campaign.
But he got the world’s attention.
And the gamble paid off.
Trump used his showman’s instincts to create a television moment, setting the stage for his Arizona speech on immigration. Once President Enrique Pena Nieto extended the invitation (with Hillary Clinton declining), Trump had a chance to portray himself as a dealmaker, a bold negotiator willing to meet the adversary on his foreign turf.
Pena Nieto was gracious in his remarks, saying he and Trump had an “open and constructive” conversation. And when he said both countries should invest more to make the border safe, well, it wasn’t exactly thumbing his nose at Trump’s oft-repeated demand that Mexico would pay for the wall. (Trump said they didn’t discuss that, but Pena Nieto contradicted his account, saying he made clear Mexico wouldn’t pay.)
And Trump not only moderated his tone, talking about the two countries “working beautifully together,” he said he had told Pena Nieto that illegal immigration must end and NAFTA must be renegotiated.  He even called the Mexican leader a “friend.” So the Republican nominee didn’t back off his positions, but showed he could calibrate his language and play in this arena." EU Taxing Apple: Help make Trump's point?

"The European Union is ordering Apple to pay $14.5 billion in back taxes that it claims the tech giant
didn’t pay due to illegal deals with Ireland.  Steve Hilton, former strategy director for David Cameron, weighed in on why this was a factor behind Britain’s decision to leave the EU.  Will Brexit, its anti-establishment sentiment, as well as its opposition to EU taxes and regulations draw comparisons to Donald Trump’s campaign in the 2016 presidential race?
Hilton viewed Apple’s deals with Ireland as completely legal despite the EU’s efforts to get more money out of the company.
I think that what’s going on here is that Apple and Ireland were doing something completely within the law.  Ireland was trying to attract business to its shores to create jobs and investment and of course the European Union centralizing bureaucracy hates that because they want every European country to be equally unattractive to business.  And so they want more taxes and more regulation everywhere, equally spreading the pain.  And if one country tries to compete, they don’t want that to happen,” Hilton told the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney.
Hilton viewed this major factor behind the campaign leading up to the Brexit vote.
That’s a great reason for leaving the EU and one of the main arguments in the Brexit campaign.”

Trump on Hillary's missing 30 emails on Benghazi

"Trump's campaign on Tuesday seized on revelations that the FBI has recovered an additional 30 emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server possibly related to the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack, saying the discovery makes one wonder “what is contained in the other emails she attempted to wipe from her server.”
The 30 emails were part of a larger cache of roughly 15,000 emails the FBI recovered as it probed Clinton’s use of a personal email server for State Department business, according to an Associated Press report." Politico

Muncie, Indiana - Trump Territory

"MUNCIE, Indiana (Reuters) — One night a month, retired auto workers shuffle into a former elementary school classroom here to discuss their legal fight against the company that cancelled their health care benefits seven years ago.
In the primary, Trump received the most votes of any candidate in either party in Delaware County, which encompasses Muncie. Just over 52 percent of Republican voters went for Trump. Democrats picked Sanders over Hillary Clinton by an even wider margin.
Candidates in the past made a lot of promises to the working class in this country and failed to follow through with it,” says 66-year-old Bruce Reynolds, who followed his father and grandfather into a career at BorgWarner.
Michael Hicks, a Ball State economist who studies manufacturing, says a mix of exasperation with
unions and the political elite created the perfect opening for Trump. “It’s always easier to blame a larger force for your problems, ....greedy factory owners,” he says. “But these people aren’t stupid. They know the jobs aren’t coming back.” The bigger concern for many of them, he says, is what will happen to their children.
David Lephart, ....The 58-year-old says one thing that influenced his transition from Democrat to Republican was talking to his children, whom he describes as part of the “business world.”
For the first half of my life, I thought Democrat was the only way to be,” Lephart says. “There’s this belief that you can’t be Republican and union—but I don’t believe that any more.” Reuters

Homeland eyes special declaration to take charge of elections

"Department of Homeland Security began considering declaring the election a "critical
infrastructure," giving it the same control over security it has over Wall Street and and the electric power grid.
The latest admissions of attacks could speed up that effort possibly including the upcoming presidential election, according to officials.

"We should carefully consider whether our election system, our election process, is critical infrastructure like the financial sector, like the power grid," Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said." WashingtonExaminer

The Left's Flavor-of-the-month sports jock unleashes on Hillary

"San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who recently refused to stand during the national
anthem at a preseason game, just unloaded on Hillary Clinton.
We have a presidential candidate who has deleted emails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate,” he said, referring to the 15,000 emails Clintonwiped” from her private, unsecured server she used during her tenure as secretary of State. “That doesn’t make sense to me.”
If it was any other person, they’d be in prison,” he said.” So what is this country really standing for?”
You have Hillary, who has called black kids, or black teens, ‘Super-predators,'” Kaepernick said, referring to Clinton’s past remarks.
Last August, she told Black Lives Matter activists that she would only talk to white people about racial issues if they didn’t quiet down." Federalist

Russia Positions Troops 50 Miles From Alaska

"Russia has announced plans to position a new coastal defense military division along its eastern coast, with some troops expected to be stationed approximately 50 miles from Alaska.
The new division, expected to be in place by 2018, will be responsible for defending Russia’s sparsely populated Far East, stretching from the Alaskan border to the Kuril Islands, which are disputed with Japan.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu indicated the new division will be expected to “ensure control of the closed sea zones of the Kuril Islands and the Bering Strait, cover the routes of Pacific Fleet forces’ deployment in the Far Eastern and Northern sea zones, and increase the combat viability of naval strategic nuclear forces.” IW

Build Detroit with Syrian Refugees?

"Clinton Global Initiative, former President Bill Clinton suggested that the U.S. use Syrian refugees to rebuild Detroit.
The truth is that the big loser in this over the long run is going to be Syria. This is an enormous opportunity for Americans,” Bill Clinton said about the Syrian migrant crisis.
Detroit has 10,000 empty, structurally sound houses—10,000. And lot of jobs to be had repairing those houses. Detroit just came out of bankruptcy and the mayor’s trying to do an innovative sort of urban homesteading program there. But it just gives you an example of what could be done. And I think any of us who have ever had any personal experience with either Syrian Americans or Syrian refugees think it’s a pretty good deal." Breitbart

Abedin & Hillary emails

"Newly released State Department emails shed light on top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s close dealings with Clinton Foundation matters while she was working at the State Department – as well as aides' frustration with their boss’s email practices.
Emails obtained by Fox News show how Abedin used her State Department email address to deal with issues relating to a Clinton Global Initiative event. In an email dated Sept. 16, 2009, Abedin was forwarded an email chain about how campaign donor Geri Shapiro first accepted an invitation to an event, but then declined when she discovered that her husband was not allowed to attend.
Abedin responded from her State Department email: “Why was she invited in the first place?”
The emails, first obtained by Citizens United, come as new questions are being raised about the relationship between the Clinton Foundation and State Department when Clinton was secretary of state. Critics say recent email dumps show donors who gave significant amounts to the Clinton Foundation calling in favors and being given preferential treatment by the State Department, with Abedin frequently acting as point person. Abedin had a special arrangement allowing her to work for the foundation while at State." Hackers Hit Election system in Arizona & Illinois

"Hackers targeted voter registration systems in Illinois and Arizona, and the FBI alerted Arizona
officials in June that Russians were behind the assault on the election system in that state.
The bureau described the threat as “credible” and significant, “an eight on a scale of one to 10,” Matt Roberts, a spokesman for Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan (R), said Monday. As a result, Reagan shut down the state’s voter registration system for nearly a week.
It turned out that the hackers had not compromised the state system or even any county system. They had, however, stolen the user name and password of a single elections official in Gila County.
Roberts said FBI investigators did not specify whether the hackers were criminals or employed by the Russian government. In addition to Arizona, Illinois officials discovered an intrusion into their elections system in July. Although the hackers did not alter any data, the intrusion marks the first successful compromise of a state voter-registration database, federal officials said." WashingtonPost

Trump Launches $10,000,000 ad blitz

"Trump's presidential campaign is going into five more states with a new $10 million television ad buy. It's the largest for the Trump campaign so far, which has been relatively slow to invest in TV ads, relying instead on free media coverage and the Republican nominee's large social media following. The campaign is now targeting the battleground states of New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, Virginia, and Colorado, putting Trump on the air in a total of nine states. The campaign rolled out its first set of ads earlier this month in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina. The new Trump ad, called "Two Americas: Economy," portrays Clinton's policies as bad for the middle class,..." yahoo

Hillary Abused Air Force Flights at State Dept.

"Because flying commercial is for the “little people.” Via NY Post. Hillary Clinton summoned the Air Force to fly her from New York to Washington, DC, seven years ago because she didn’t want to use the “burdensome” commercial shuttle, according to newly released e-mails…. “Do you think we could get a plane for Westchester flight back tonight?” Clinton wrote in...
It’s going to rain all day and I still don’t feel great, so the idea of playing a guessing game w the shuttle is really burdensome to me. What do you think? Could be any time that works for the Air Force,Clinton told Abedin.
An hour and 40 minutes later, the trusted aide replied: “Yes of course. Looking into it. Around what time do u think?”
Six or 7 — does that work?” Clinton asked.
Abedin quickly got the job done. “Plan confirmed. Its the c21, the little one that we’ve taken before. Will be at white plains ready for a 6pm departure,” she wrote. At 5:15 pm, 45 minutes before the departure time, Clinton had a change of plan.
Will the plane wait if I can’t get there before 7-8?” Clinton asked.
Yes of course,” Abedin replied…." TammyBruce

PBS edits out Stein's criticism of Hillary

"When Green Party nominee Jill Stein sat down with Judy Woodruff on “PBS News Hour” for an interview Tuesday, Woodruff asked this question:
You’ve made it clear that you think both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump would be terrible presidents for the country. So are you saying you think literally that Hillary Clinton is every bit as bad for the country as Donald Trump?

Stein gave an answer that spanned 1 minute and 9 seconds — but only 21 seconds of her answer made it into PBS’ final version of the interview." TheBlaze

Muslim Refugee Camp – This Proves Trump Was Right…

"....authorities in Europe have just announced that they uncovered fake passports printed by the Islamic State in the hands of refugees they’ve allowed into their countries.
This came after police conducted a series of raids on refugee camps and found the ISIS-forged documents in the possession of Syrian and Iraqi refugees in camps located in Iraq, Syria, Greece, and Austria.
In particular, they have identified fake passports in the refugee camps in Greece that were destined to supposed members of ISIS,” the Italian newspaper La Stampa reported.
This confirms our worst fears that Western countries are taking in ISIS militants as refugees. It also confirms that at least 2 of the perpetrators behind the Paris terrorist attacks in November had entered France as Syrian refugees on forged documents." CP

Louisiana Paper Blasts Clinton for Snubbing Flood Victims: Is It Because We’re a Red State?

"If Hillary Clinton becomes president next year — then she will inherit the job of overseeing the federal role in Louisiana’s recovery from historic flooding. That’s reason enough for Clinton to visit the state and see the damage for herself, and she’s made a bad decision in avoiding Louisiana since the waters receded.
Rebounding from what’s been described as the worst American natural disaster since Superstorm Sandy is going to take many months, and the work will be ongoing after President Barack Obama leaves office in January.
Louisiana is a reliably red state with few electoral votes, and Clinton isn’t likely to flip it to her column in the coming election. But Louisiana’s crisis should be a call to conscience and compassion, not the cold calculus of electoral math. The scale of this disaster argues for sustained, bipartisan resolve to rebuild our broken state.
If she wants to be the next president, Hillary Clinton should act like one, and come to Louisiana."

Stein calls for GREEN NEW DEAL

"CNN recently sent a series of science-related questions to Jill Stein for a feature story. Here are the questions with Dr. Stein’s full, unedited answers, including links to research she cited.

What is Dr. Stein’s explicit position on vaccines and her concern with the FDA and CDC?

Vaccines are a critical part of our public health system. I have always been pro-vaccine, and in fact as the only candidate who supports universal health care as a right, in effect, I am the most pro-vaccine and pro-health candidate in this race.

Dr. Stein has called for a moratorium on GMOs and pesticides. How would this work? Does it apply to all GMOs or just some?

We would enact a moratorium on new genetically modified organisms being introduced into our ecosystems, including our agricultural system and our food supply, until independent research free from industry influence shows decisively that GMOs are not harmful to human health or to the health of our ecosystems. This is called the Precautionary Principle, and it is used in countries in the European Union, but not in the United States.

Is there a concern that criticisms casting Dr. Stein as at odds with science are impacting the campaign?

Clearly there are attempts by our detractors in the political establishment, amplified by some in the media, to discredit our campaign by distorting statements that I’ve made about complex scientific issues. The political establishment clearly feels threatened by the enthusiastic response to our agenda for a Green New Deal to end unemployment, halt climate meltdown, and make wars for oil obsolete. The Green Party platform is actually the most pro-science, pro-research platform of any party, but the research has to be done by independent institutions that don’t have a financial stake in the outcome."

Trump Wades into Controversy

"Donald Trump offered his condolences at a rally Saturday to the family of basketball star Dwyane
Wade, whose cousin was fatally shot in Chicago Friday. The Republican presidential nominee faced backlash earlier Saturday, when he tweeted about the death of Nykea Aldridge, who was caught in crossfire and shot in the head and arm while leaving a school in Chicago.
"Dwayne Wade's cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!" he tweeted, misspelling the athlete's name.
Trump, while speaking from Iowa Saturday at Sen. Joni Ernst's Roast 'n Ride rally, attempted to tone down his earlier message -- but still used it as an example of why African-Americans should vote for him.
"More than 6,000 African-Americans are victims of murder every year," Trump said.
"It breaks our hearts. This shouldn't happen in America. We send our thoughts and our prayers to the family, and we also promise to fight for a better tomorrow." msn

Never - Trumpster Republicans won't let up

"Republicans who are dismayed by Trump and alarmed by his slipping poll numbers will be running ads in key states across the country, calling for Trump to step aside, according to a new report from Politico.
The ad, which was sponsored by the group "Free the Delegates" will run in suburbs in Florida, Virginia, Ohio and Michigan, according to Politico. Free the Delegates had tried to stop Trump at the Republican convention, but had fallen short. The ad is titled "Keep Your Promise," which is a throwback to a comment Trump made early in the campaign that he'd bow out of the presidential race if he was far behind in national polls.
"Resign the nomination. Let the RNC replace you so we can beat Hillary," the ad read at the end." msn

Trump stumps on Immrigation in Iowa

"Speaking on the campaign trail in Iowa, he outlined what he called an "entry-exit" program, which would track those who overstay their visas.
He also reiterated his support for building a wall along the southern border with Mexico.
And he said he would stop illegal immigrants getting welfare benefits.
"I am going to build a great border wall, institute nationwide e-verify, stop illegal immigrants from accessing welfare and entitlements, and develop an exit-entry tracking system to ensure those who overstay their visas are quickly removed," Mr Trump said.

POLL: Catholic Vote

"More than half of all U.S. Catholics (52 percent) would cast a vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton if the election were held today, compared to just 32 percent for Republican Donald J. Trump.
But when broken down by ethnicity, the numbers diverge. More than three in four (76 percent) non-white and Hispanic Catholics would pick Clinton, with 13 percent choosing Trump.
Among white non-Hispanic Catholics, Clinton holds a much smaller lead, 44 percent to 41 percent.
Six in 10 (62 percent) white evangelicals say they would vote for Trump today, while 47 percent of white mainline Protestants pick Trump.
Trump’s trouble with Catholic voters was foreshadowed during the primary season, when a group of reliably conservative Catholics urged their fellow believers in the Republican Party to resist Trump, even after he had all but sewn up the nomination.
Those concerns were renewed this week when The Hill reported on comments made by the newly tapped C.E.O of the Trump campaign, Stephen Bannon. The former head of the conservative website Breitbart News had accused the Catholic Church of supporting immigration reform only to boost its own membership." American

Liberal Huffington Post on Why Hillary Will Lose

"Anyway, a guy that used to run Algore's TV network, Current TV, named Michael Rosenblum on Twitter, has a piece at the Huffing and Puffington Post: "Donald Trump Is Going to Be Elected." The election is over.  Nobody knows it yet because nobody knows how to look at this.

His thesis is Donald Trump's going to be elected.
"The American people voted for him a long time ago."  They voted for him when reality TV swept the nation.  "They voted for him when The History Channel went from showing documentaries about the Second World War to 'Pawn Stars' and 'Swamp People.'  ...They voted for him when CBS went from airing 'Harvest of Shame' to airing 'Big Brother,'" and King of Queens
"These networks didn’t make these programming changes by accident. They were responding to what the American people actually wanted. And what they wanted was 'Naked and Afraid' and 'Duck Dynasty,'"

Here's Hillary out saying that Trump is a racist, and Trump responds, "No, you're a bigot."  It's a food fight.  The presidential campaign has become reality TV to the low-information voters.  In fact, one of the most controversial aspects of the presidential campaign has become, "Did Hillary Clinton rig opening a can of pickles on the Jimmy Kimmel show earlier this week?" RUSH
